How to Use Ecdysterone
About one decade ago today, the supplement ecdysterone started blowing up in popularity and still is fairly popular today. If you are unfamiliar with what this product is, it basically helps promote muscle gain to the extent that any pro hormone or mild anabolic steroid would, without the negative side effects.
It does this by helping you increase your protein synthesis and keeping a positive nitrogen balance; of course, you will have to do some of this work through your diet. You will see much better results supplementing with ecdysterone than you would with a high protein diet alone.
Ecdysterone Dosage
A lot of people wonder how to use ecdysterone. Different companies recommend different types of dosing.
The recommended dose for ecdysterone for some supplements is 100-300 mg per day, while some others recommend up to 400-600 mg per day. If you think that is a lot, some people take up to 1,200 mg per day. Yes, that seems like a lot, but even at that high of a dose, you will still be completely safe. You would have to take at least 200,000 mg in a single day until you're in the ballpark of it being dangerous for toxicity reasons.
The problem with these supplements is their purity. Most ecdysterone supplements contain a high level of plant matter, even when they claim to be standardized to nearly 100% purity. - Protein Intake – Lifting natural, it is recommended that you consume at least your body weight in grams of protein per day. When using ecdysterone, the best results come from upwards of 1.5 grams of protein per day. This means that if you weigh 200 lbs, then you should consume at least 300 grams of protein per day.
- Carbohydrate Intake – The recommended carbohydrate intake is about 2x your body weight. If you weigh 200 lbs, then you should consume around 400 grams of carbohydrates per day.
- Fat Intake – Your fat intake should be limited at around .3-.4x your body weight per day. A 200 lbs man would limit his fat intake to roughly 60-80 grams per day, except in the case of extreme hardgainers.
- Meal Frequency – You should make sure to get a meal in every 3-5 hours; if you decide to wait up to 4-5 hours, then you should make sure to also supplement with branch chain amino acids to help increase protein synthesis and keep a positive nitrogen balance.
As you can see, ecdysterone is a powerful supplement that can allow you to reach your goals much faster than you could naturally. The dosing for each product may be different, but you can experiment to see what works the best for you. Every body is different.
